How can we reach you?
Add a mobile number so we can keep your account details together and use it for important account or safeguarding communication when appropriate.
The information you provide during startup is securely recorded for your Lived in Lyrics account.
Trusted people
Optional for users aged 16 and over. Add up to three people who can receive a safeguarding check-in if a journal entry is picked up as concerning.
For each person, we'll capture their name, relationship and preferred contact method so a future message can use an appropriate tone.

This person receives only the safeguarding notification needed to encourage a check-in. Their relationship helps us phrase the message appropriately. Your full journal is not automatically shared.

Connect your cloud backup
Your journal can be backed up securely to your own cloud storage. This is separate from signing in, so you can see exactly what permission you're giving.
If you connect cloud storage, Lived in Lyrics can save your completed journal reflections and original voice recordings to your own cloud account. We use app-specific storage access rather than asking for access to everything in your drive.
Cloud backup is optional. You can skip this step and connect or change cloud storage later in Settings.
Location & emergency support
Allow Lived in Lyrics to use your location when you choose to ask for help.
If you or someone using the app is in serious danger, knowing your current location can help you communicate where help is needed. This can be especially important for young people and anyone who may be unable to explain where they are in a crisis.
Your location is not continuously tracked. Lived in Lyrics only requests a current location when you actively use a location-based safety feature.
Allowing location access does not automatically contact 999 or send your location anywhere. If there is an immediate emergency, the app will help you contact emergency services and you can choose to share your current location.
Location permission has not been requested.
Choose your AI
Lived in Lyrics lets you use the AI provider you prefer. You bring your own provider account and API key.
Your key is sent over HTTPS and encrypted on the server. It is never shown back to you in the browser.
Choose a provider, enter its key, then connect it.
Explore the app and test the journal experience using demo AI responses. Your real AI provider can be connected later.
Demo Mode is clearly labelled and does not use a real AI provider.

- If the safeguarding system identifies a defined level of concern, it may use the verified contact details you have provided to encourage a real person to check in.
- A safeguarding message is limited to what is needed for the check-in. It does not automatically include the full journal entry.
- For under-16 accounts, the linked adult is required. For 16+ accounts, trusted contacts are optional and can be up to three people.
- The relationship you give us helps the system use a respectful, appropriate tone when a check-in is sent.
